Food diary analysis

People must analyse their diets to determine whether their nutrient intakes align with their needs as an individual. Analysing dietary intakes can be useful for several reasons.

For example, the average intake of an athlete can be studied, and the data can be used in conjunction with their biochemical or anthropometric data to determine whether their diets are adequate and meet their needs as an athlete.

The analysis of an individuals diary can be key when looking to lose weight or if they are experiencing issues with irritable bowels or allergies. The analysis of an individuals diary can point to the reason why they are experiencing issues.

Why do I need my diet analysed?

Dietary Recall

As detailed above, there are many reasons as to why an analysis should be carried. Each individual analysis is different and will highlight different issues that can be corrected via interventions that we will prescribe.

We will walk you through the process and be on hand duirng the recall period to ensure you are logging your data correctly. It is frustrating but it is well worth a weeks worth of logging to reap the rewards later.

Dietary Analysis

Once we have all of the data from your dietary recall, we will begin the analysis of your diet. This will include your intake, timings, energy expendiure and report back with a comprehensive reports which details your daily energy needs, where you compare with your intake. We will  then provide recommendations on how we can progress your diet to get you aligned with your individual needs.

Great working with The Endurance Academy as part of a structured training plan, I’d decided fairly late on during the ‘off-season’ about taking on some coaching after undertaking a bit of base work under my own steam over winter. I contacted Jon and set my goals around a mix of training for a trip to the Dolomites as well as taking part in the local road racing scene. The process of setting up the plan was easy, we decided on when I needed to ‘peak’ how many hours I had available and an easy-to-follow structured plan was pulled together very quickly.
